This past summer, the DOD CIO Dr. Kelly Fletcher took a very important step in developing the construct for secure cloud management (SCM) by issuing a reference design for the Cloud Native Access Point (CNAP).
The purpose of a CNAP is to provide secure, authorized access to DOD resources in a commercial cloud environment – from anywhere on any device – by leveraging a Zero Trust approach.
In this interview, we talk to Drew Epperson, senior director of federal engineering and chief architect for Palo Alto Networks, about how CNAPs work, improving user experience in accessing the cloud and doing away with implied trust.
